Nuking A Blog

In an attempt to make this blog more professional, I deleted all of my old content. I want this blog to be about programming, technology, and the works. No personal stuff on here at all. I can do that in Facebook Notes or on my Myspace Blog if I want.

So with a little SQL and dissecting of this diagram, I figured out how to keep the content I wanted and delete the rest (without going through the web admin). All you really need to do is delete all posts except for those that are pages, then delete all comments (i kept 1), then delete all taxonomy terms by deleting everything (except for maybe the blogroll term) from wp_terms, wp_term_taxonomy, and wp_term_relationships.

It takes a little work, but it’s worth it.

I started my blog thinking it would be a technical blog. After getting married and being a stay at home dad, it’s turned into a personal blog. And I haven’t looked back. If I did that, I’d have maybe a handful of entries left. My blog predates Myspace and Facebook anyways.

    Good luck!

Well, I will definitely continue to talk about what I love. If it is interesting enough for the world to hear about and if it’s personal, I may put it on here. But some things that were personal weren’t really too interesting. So in an effort to revamp, it’s all gone. I also want more meat to the blog, not just random crap I find on the internet. I want the blog to be useful in some way to the reader, whether that be by learning something from my personal experiences or by me talking about technology.
