I Conquered The Mountain

I conquered the mountain,
I went amongst the titans,
I went through a long, strenuous marathon,
Over the mountains of the moon,
And down the valley of the shadow,
And Now I’m here past the finish line
I’ve found my El Dorado

The finish line was always the goal,
The El Dorado was what I thought I wanted,
But it was the hunt that made it worth while,
The journey is what I loved,
And now it’s time to find a new path

There’s something that we are all looking for,
Purpose.

Without this convention,
we roam aimlessly
So we give ourselves purpose
we work towards a goal
not for the goal’s sake,
but for the hope that the goal gives us

I need to find this hope, this goal, we all need to find this.

Hello My Abandoned Blog

It’s time to start writing in this blog again. Remember when I use to write a lot more? Well, it’s time to start doing that again. Since the last time that I’ve given an update, I have graduated with my Master’s Degree and moved to Decatur, AL. I’m enjoying being out on my own, but definitely missing friends and family. But two hours away from the place I should always call home in my heart isn’t too bad.

I’m working for a company that does map software. Currently I’m doing some project for the State of Mississippi. I’m writing in ASP, so it’s good that I’m familiar with the language. The timeline for the project could be a lot better though. But giving enough time to get the job done right, that would of course be wrong

My parents came up today to visit. It was good times. I burned that famous BCS Championship disc with Eli Gold that I’ve been talking about on the twitterverse/facebookverse.

I also bought a book at Books-a-million this afternoon. I bought a book entitled “World War Z” by Max Brooks. It is of course about the zombie apocalypse. It should be an interesting read

Use Onenote As A Diary/Journal

So, I really like Onenote. One of the things that I don’t like about onenote is that I cannot view items in a calendar view (to use it like a journal). But someone apparently thought the same thing. Here’s the link so you can view your onenote entries in a calendar view .

So my blog has been updated with a collapsible sidebar. If your browser supports Javascript (which it should) you will see a vertical bar to the right of the main content. If you click on the bar the main content area will stretch to the width of my header bar. This is useful if I post code that is too wide for the main content area on my blog. Anyway, tell me what you guys think.
